Javier Cabrera

Graphic designer from Tenerife, with broad experience in graphic, editorial and corporate design. He has been head designer of his studio, Javier Cabrera DG, since 1996 and after being creative director in other studios and creative agencies such as OTO Comunicación e imagen and Publicom.

Associate Lecturer in the Bachelor’s Degree in Design at the University of La Laguna (ULL), where he teaches History of Typography, Editorial Layout and Typography. His work in Typography focuses especially on modular construction as a fundamental approach to learning and exploring typographic design, with an emphasis on its application across various design and communication fields, such as corporate identity and poster design.

In 2018 he launched the RISO workshop Reset at ULL, where he leads printing workshops related to design, illustration and alternative editorial publishing. He also integrates this technique as a core educational tool in the teaching of graphic arts.
